The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia announced that the Ukrainian authorities were blocking the supply of ammonia abroad, thus violating the terms of the grain deal concluded between Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN.
The department reported about 7 million tons, sufficient for the production of 25 million tons of mineral fertilizers, the use of which in agriculture can feed 150 million people.
At the same time, the shipment of Russian mineral fertilizers from the ports of the European Union is prohibited as well.
“Russia keeps supplying the poorest countries with fertilizers, even though it’s associated with difficulty and delay. Part of the cargo (20 thousand tons) was sent from the Netherlands to Malawi. Latvia, Estonia and Belgium continue to delay our products,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
