UN intends to remove barriers for Russian fertilizer exports

The Russian Federation demanded to remove the obstacles that hinder the sale of Russian fertilizers on the world market.

Secretary-General of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Rebeca Grynspan is doing everything to remove obstacles to the export of fertilizers from Russia, which have accumulated and stuck in European ports. This was announced on February 28 at a briefing by the Spokesperson for United Nations Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric.

The removal of restrictions that prevent the sale of Russian fertilizers on the world market is the requirement of the Russian Federation in the framework of the grain deal. “I can tell you that Rebeca Grynspan and her team are doing everything possible to address the issue of unavailability of Russian fertilizer on global market, including fertilizers that are on ships in European ports, in particular in Latvia,” said Stephane Dujarric. “Our main purpose is to ensure that fertilizers reach farmers in developing countries, especially in Africa.”
